Cody Borchers – Bringing Freestyle to the Backcountry

Another great part about the experience was being able to practice with all the other riders and getting a feel for the degree of difficulty and caliber of tricks that go down at X. I treated it just like a competition, and tried to get as much experience as I could! My main focus was to do my runs with no dead sailors (straight airs) and ride the course as fast as I could with all the tricks that I came with. It really helped to boost my confidence in being able to practice on that set-up. Having that knowledge will only help for next year!! So all in all it was an awesome experience for me and it showed me the things I need to work on for next season!
My life after the X Games has consisted of finalizing my work Visa, it is almost complete…so thank you to everyone that has helped make it happen to this point. I have also jumped back into filming with Slednecks and achieving my video parts. I have changed it up a bit this year and am incorporating freestyle into the back country. Just trying to keep everything fresh and give something new for everyone to see! It has pushed me to keep growing as a rider because backcountry freestyle is tricky! To date the riding that I have been doing with Geoff Kyle and Chris Brown is going to turn Slednecks 13 into a must have!
As always I couldn’t have this amazing life without the help of everyone around me. I want all of you to know you make this happen for me and I am truly blessed to be working with all of you. So again thank you! Well I’m off to fix my sled so she is ready to shred for the next sunny path that comes our way!!
Thanks once again to all your help.
