Supercross to Core trucks and now Snowmobiles at the winter X-Games!! They are sponsoring Paul Thacker’s sled in Best Trick, Freestyle, and other events! Paul is also the current long jump record holder for snowmobiles at 301 feet! Congrats to Paul, and Good Job Traxxas for doing everything in their power this year to get the word out about RC!

This ain’t Paul Thacker’s first rodeo. He’s been around the block before—wearing all sorts of
hats and helmets. Chances are Thacker has walked a mile in your shoes.
The unusual arc of Thacker’s career—college (Concordia, Minn.), then minor-league hockey (center forward, Anchorage Aces), then six-plus years as a banker (AK district manager, Wells Fargo Financial) moonlighting as snowmobile racer and freerider, and now, hallelujah!, professional freerider (two time world-record distance jump holder)—sets him apart from most of his SnoMo bros. Actually, college alone accomplishes that, but it’s all part of a unique journey nonetheless.

Paul Thacker was born and raised in the great state of Alaska. He has been riding
snowmobiles for nearly 20 years and have been a pro for 10 of those. He grew up just north of Anchorage in a small town called Willow. He loves to ride dirt bikes, jet skis, and most of all he is an avid fisherman.
His career path to become a professional snowmobiler is not that of your typical athlete. He grew up playing hockey and that was his 1st passion. He was able to continue into college and on into the pro ranks for a short time. However as fate would have it he was destined for another sport.
